A Matter of Time at Tatton Park 2010

A Matter of Time is intended to stimulate the viewer, both visually and intellectually, to consider the enormity of space and time.

The title and inclusion of the alien may suggest simply that it is only a matter of time before we encounter alien life forms, or perhaps the opposite in that it may prove impossible to travel the distances necessary for a close encounter.

When considering the enormity of space and time, Douglas Adams wrote, ‘In an infinite universe, the one thing sentient life cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion’. Fortunately, we humans have no sense of proportion whatsoever, rendering this exhibit completely pointless!
